6.4
Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')
CVE CVE-2023-48765
CVSS 6.4 (Medium)
Publicly Published November 28, 2023
Last Updated December 6, 2023
Researcher LVT-tholv2k

Description

The Email Address Encoder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's eae_shortcode shortcode in version 1.0.22 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the 'link' user supplied attribute. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
