Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)
CVE CVE-2023-0420
CVSS 6.1 (Medium)
Publicly Published March 28, 2023
Last Updated January 22, 2024
Researcher Shreya Pohekar

Description

The Custom Post Type and Taxonomy GUI Manager for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 1.1. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation when saving settings. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to invoke the vulnerable function via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Sanitization and escaping of user input is insufficient resulting in Stored Cross-Site Scripting.
